On the 10th of March a charity event took place at Kego Park in Fukuoka City. University Students, Non-Profit-Organizations and other social workers tried to advertise the people from Fukuoka of their volunteer projects at the disaster area of Tohoku and tried to collect some money for donations by selling food or different kinds of products.
The team from Groundwork Fukuoka was also active on this day. To support the workers from the region witch was affected by the great East Japan earthquake, we sold seaweed that was made by a company from this area. Additionally we offered self-made miso soup and presented a book which includes short compositions written by children from Fukushima, how they had experienced the disaster.
Fortunately the selling was really successful! We were able to sell all stocked seaweeds and a lot of the miso soup and books we had in offer. In the end of the day we all were satisfied and were looking forward to the next charity event.
