Last week on Saturday 13th we went to Joyo early in the morning to start cleaning the garden newly built by Groundwork Fukuoka. We were three young women to take away the grass that has been growing recently between the flowers to make the garden look clean again. We were lucky that in the morning it has not been too hot for this kind of work. Before lunch we just had enough time to go to a field near the children museum Warabe Kan to plant some potatoes with resident farmers. In the afternoon we endet our "Saturday gardening tour" by helping cleaning a soybean field. We were glad to have a great opportunity to breath some fresh air in the country side, to meet some of the local residents, to enjoy tea from Joyo with them and to try their nice tasting Mochi (sweet sticky rice balls) filled with Anko (sweet red bean paste). hmm…
